Early 1950s Oak Air Ministry Bookcase by Staverton for the Crown Suppliers. Vintage/Retro/Mid Century

A very early example of these superb Bookcases/Storage Cabinets made by Staverton Furniture Makers, by order of the Crown Suppliers, for the Air Ministry. Stamped with ‘GR’ on the reverse, this particular example is a rare remaining design by order of King George VI before his death in 1952.

Free standing and made from Oak, this fantastic piece has five separate sections each with its own roll top door. Each section is divided into three compartments for display or storage of any manner of wares. Offered in good vintage condition, this unit is strong and sturdy and ready for a new home.

We have a two of these units available, the other is on a seperate listing and is a slightly later version from 1954 with subtle differences in design.
